The Summer of 2011 will afford us the opportunity to attempt to stay cooler by heading south from the beginning of the New England Highway in the South Burnett, staying high in the cooler climate of Australia's Great Dividing Range.
Our aim is to seek out the 'Ghosts of Bushrangers Past' exploring the history of famous Bushrangers, like Thunderbolt and Ned Kelly. Enroute we will explore the the Caves of the Blue Mountains, summit Australia's highest Peak - Mt Kosciosko as well as camp in the rugged mountain region of the 'Snowy River'. We'll have a bush Christmas beside the Murray River before heading back north. We'll share our trip through images and words.
So join us on our camper trailer trek, both on and off the black stuff. We have two days now to prep and pack. Using the opening words of Banjo Patterson in his work, 'The Man From Snowy River' and as written in fine print on our $10 note: "There was movement at the station for the word had got about....." and so we have movement at our station in preparation of this expedition.
